Overview

This project is part of the design process, moving on from Defining the brief to Design Ideation and delivering. Once I gathered the How Might We questions, I moved to putting ideas and concepts.

The Process

This part of the project focuses on Ideating , testing and delivering aspects of the Design process

The Brief

“To design a centralized ambulance management system that connects various stakeholders and resources, and help victims/patients to get medical assistance, efficiently thereby prioritizing life saving.”

How Might We

Crazy 8s

Once the How might We questions were formed, I used Crazy 8 method of ideation to brainstorm on each HMW for 8 minutes and 2 minutes of thinking on the same. Two rounds of Crazy 8s were conducted to help me diverge and brainstorm better.

HMW connect patients , paramedics , drivers to family / friends.

HMW ensure control of health to patients and caregivers.

HMW ensure centralized one stop platform for all emergency needs.

Introducing SAMS

SAMS or Smart Ambulance Management System is a centralized application that let you manage emergency situation easily without putting oneself in life threatening situations

SAMS system

The system values life saving as a priority thus bridges both primary and and secondary stakeholders on two separate yet interlinked platform

Information architecture

Customer app information architecture - The patient or customers app caters to patient or victims and their friends and family members..

Partner app information architecture - The partner or driver app is the support app that helps the customer app be efficient and mitigate emergencies faster.

Onboarding to SAMS

The SAMS customer application works in close proximity with a Smart Band or Smart Watch. The user needs to pair the watch with the application in three easy step process and let the application aces to users body vital stats that would be necessary for monitoring any irregularities during emergency.

Searching an ambulance with SAMS

Let SAMS help you mitigate emergency. The app reads body vital irregularities via the smartwatch and starts to enact itself and notifies friend / family member / doctor, who in return makes sure the SOS is activated and an Ambulance reaches the location as soon as possible.

Proposed usage Scenario of SAMS

A scenario involving Speedy Praveen and his friend Sudarshan , and how they mitigate emergency using SAMS application.

Informing emergency contact

Praveen runs into an accident. His watch detects health irregularities and informs the emergency contact his friend Sudarshan through SAMS application.

Praveens watch reads vitals and sends SOS help to his emergency contact.

Sudarshan receives the SOS and acts on it on the SAMS application

Finding an Ambulance for Praveen

Praveens friend Sudarshan receives the SOS notification from SAMS application and immediately acts to try and find an emergency ambulance to take care of his situation. Sudarshan is tensed but he has now access to Praveens body vitals recorded by Praveens' watch

SAMS Ambulance reaching Praveen for help

Nearest SAMS ambulance to Praveen receives incoming emergency request sent from Sudarshan, and accepts it. The Ambulance views Praveens body vitals and decides type of Ambulance they need along with Paramedic Expertise. Once the paramedics reach Praveens they analyze his condition and decide on the type of hospital that's best suited for him.

Sudarshan receives Praveens real tile health updates and hospital admission details on SAMS customer application

Informing friend ( Sudarshan ) and family.

Sudarshan receives notification about ambulance reaching Praveen and on way to designated hospital. He can view Praveens current health condition, the paramedics taking care of him and the hospitals he is going to be admitted to.

SAMS Ambulance clearing traffic for fast transport.

SAMS ambulance notifies traffic controlling unit and cars in the dedicated route about incoming emergency. Traffic light shifted to emergency light . Cars / vehicles move away due to incoming beacon voice message and emergency traffic light flashed at route.
